My next mission: Losing Weight on a Budget!
I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant with my 2nd child.
After that horrific taste of life with diabetes (my fingertips were constantly sore from testing my sugars 6 times a day), I was sent a letter from my local health authority.
They warned me that I had a 50% chance of developing Type 2 Diabetes within ten years if I didn’t get my weight under control. Specifically, I needed to maintain a non-pregnant weight of under 133pounds.
That was three years ago.
I’ve done almost nothing about it.
In that time I’ve focused almost completely on growing a business that can sustain us when we travel, but now travel scares me. I don’t want to wear a swimsuit, or even summer clothes, because none of my clothes fit me anymore and I refuse to buy clothes that do.
I simply cannot survive another year at this weight. I’m looking forward to becoming more happy, active and healthy over the coming months.
Here’s how I plan to do that (on a budget):
I’m using a combination of Keto meals and Trim Healthy Mama. It’s going well so far. I can’t give up carbs completely, but I’m trying to only eat 1 ‘E’ (energising with good carbs) meal per day, for lunch.
I will not be joining any expensive diet programs, almost everything I need is found online. I did purchase the Trim Healthy Mama books, a Keto book, and pay $10/month for an online exercise program.
I’ve also hired a trainer to work with twice a week, am trying to cycle more and just generally be more active.
